Corner Properties
Use the Corner Properties  attribute to override the corner settings of a Boundary Layers node for a selection of corners, as shown in Figure 8-43. This is useful if you want other corner properties for a smaller number of sharp corners.
Figure 8-43: Specifying the lower sharp corner (blue) as Splitting (left) or No special handling (right) instead of the trimming done for the rest of the corners (upper sharp corner).
To add a Corner Properties () node as a local attribute to a Boundary Layers node, select edges (3D) or points (2D) in the Graphics window, then choose one of the following:
Right-click a Boundary Layers node and choose Corner Properties ().
Click to select a Boundary Layers node in the Model Builder window. On The Mesh Toolbar, select Corner Properties from the More Attributes () menu.
Geometric Entity Selection
Define the edges (3D) or points (2D) where to modify the corner settings. Choose Manual in the Selection list to select the entities in the Graphics window, choose a named selection to refer to a previously defined selection, or choose All edges or All points to select all edges or points, respectively.
Corner Properties
The following options for handling boundary layers at sharp corners are available from the Corner handling list:
Select Trimming (the default) to trim the boundary layer mesh at the selected corners. Select the Conditions check box (default off) to specify at which angles to trim. For more information about the different settings, see Corner Settings for the Boundary Layers operation. Add a Corner Refinement attribute with the setting Include only these corners to specify a corner refinement for the trimmed corners.
Select Splitting to introduce boundary layer splits at the selected corners. Select the Condition check box (default off) to specify at which angles to introduce splits. For more details, see Corner Settings for the Boundary Layers operation. If a Corner Refinement attribute is specified for all boundaries, use the Exclude these corners setting to exclude corners where Splitting has been specified.
Select No special handling to not use any special treatment at the selected corners. If a Corner Refinement attribute is specified for all boundaries, use the Exclude these corners setting to exclude corners where No special handling has been specified.
