The Cathodic Protection Interface
The Cathodic Protection (cp) interface () interface is customized for cathodic protection-related applications. It enables several customized boundary, edge, and point features suitable for cathodic protection modeling.
Ohm’s law is used in combination with a charge balance to describe the conduction of currents in the electrodes and electrolytes.
The interface is identical to the Secondary Current Distribution interface, except that the Enable cathodic protection features check box is enabled by default and that the Discretization is set to Quadratic for both the electrolyte and electrode phase potentials on the interface top node. Also, the default tag of the interface is cp.
When the Enable cathodic protection features check box has been ticked on the interface top node, the following features nodes are available:
