Explicit Selection (Mesh Sequences)
Use an Explicit Selection node () to create the selection using the selection tools for individual geometry objects or geometric entities (boundaries, for example).
To add an Explicit Selection node, select entities in the graphics, then choose one of the following:
Right-click in the Graphics window and select Explicit Selection () from the Selections menu. For more information, see The Graphics Context Menu.
On The Mesh Toolbar, select Explicit Selection from the Selections () menu.
Right-click the Mesh node and choose Explicit Selection () from the Selections menu.
Entities to Select
Based on space dimension, select a Geometric entity level: Domain, Boundary, Edge, or Point for the geometry objects or entities to add to the selection list. Select and add geometric entities in the Graphics window or using other selection methods. The selected items are highlighted in the Graphics window.
If Boundary (for 2D and 3D models) or Edge is selected, also select the Group by continuous tangent check box to extend the selection to all adjacent faces or edges that have continuous tangents (an angle less than the value in the Angular tolerance field) at their junctions to select all faces that make up a continuous sheet, for example. When the Group by continuous tangent check box is selected, set the tolerance on the continuity condition in the Angular tolerance field as the maximum angle between two faces or edges that are considered as having continuous tangents (a value between 0 and 180 degrees; the default value is 5 degrees).
Resulting Selection
Select the Show in physics check box (selected by default) to make the resulting selection available as a named selection should appear in applicable settings for physics, materials, and other parts of the model tree outside of the mesh or mesh part. Clear the check box to keep the selection local to this mesh sequence.
Color
In this section, choose a color from the Color list for use with this selection. See Selection Colors.
