AWE Expression
Use the AWE Expression feature to define the asymptotic waveform expansion (AWE) expression/metric used for the Adaptive Frequency Sweep study type. Add this node from the Variables submenu.
When the AWE Expression feature is added to a Pressure Acoustics, Frequency Domain model, the default Physics controlled option for the AWE expression type setting, in the Adaptive Frequency Sweep study step, will work, the expression will be defined by the physics.
Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation Expression
Select the AWE expression option as User defined (the default), Point integration, or select one of the predefined expression defined by the Port feature (if present in the model).
For User defined, enter a global expression that defined the AWE expression/metric. This is an expression that represents the response of the system. This can, for example, be the sound pressure level (SPL) evaluated using an integration or average operator.
For Point integration, select the points where the pressure is probed (in the Point Selection section). Select one or more points to automatically give the summed acoustic power metric |p|2. It is important that the selected points probe the solution spatially, if it changes significantly.
If a Port feature is present in the model, the list will be populated with a Port asymptotic waveform evaluation expression for each added port. In this case, the AWE expression/metric will be given by the scattering coefficient of the given port.
