Point Mass
Use the Point Mass node to model a discrete mass or mass moment of inertia which is concentrated at a point.
Coordinate System Selection
With the Coordinate system list, select the coordinate system in which the mass moment of inertia tensor is defined.
Point Mass
Enter a Point mass m.
Enter a value or values for the Mass moment of inertia. For 2D models, enter one value for Jz. For 3D models, enter a single value for an isotropic moment of inertia tensor, or select Diagonal or Symmetric to enter a full moment of inertia tensor.
Damping
Enter a Mass damping parameter αdM. This is the mass proportional term of a Rayleigh damping.
Frame Acceleration Forces
Select the Exclude contribution check box to switch off the loads generated by this node when the frame is accelerated using a Gravity, Rotating Frame, Linearly Accelerated Frame, or Base Excitation feature. The setting will also determine whether the node will contribute when computing mass properties and participation factors.
