Add a Participation Factors node (
) under
Definitions>Physics Utilities in a model component for computing modal participation factors in structural simulations. Participation factors are measures that relate to the energy contained within each resonant mode (they represent the amount of system mass participating in a particular mode). See
Modal Participation Factors in the
Structural Mechanics Module User’s Guide for more information.
When you add an Eigenfrequency study a Participation Factors node is automatically created.
The Settings window contains the following section:
From the Center of rotation list, choose
Center of mass (the default) or
User defined for defining the coordinates of the center of rotation in the
X,
Y, and
Z field (the default names in a 3D structural mechanics model).
