Radiation Shield (Surface-to-Surface Radiation Interface)
This node aims to model the thermal resistance induced by one or multiple radiative insulation layers. The shield type and radiative properties can be set independently on each side in the Radiation Shield, Upside (Surface-to-Surface Radiation Interface) and Radiation Shield, Downside (Surface-to-Surface Radiation Interface) default subnodes.
This condition can only be applied on boundaries where Diffuse Surface (Surface-to-Surface Radiation Interface) or Opaque Surface (Surface-to-Surface Radiation Interface) is used. In addition, when the parent physics interface is involved in any Heat Transfer with Surface-to-Surface Radiation multiphysics coupling, it can only be applied on external boundaries of the associated Heat transfer interface.
When this feature is applied on boundaries where Diffuse Surface (Surface-to-Surface Radiation Interface) or Opaque Surface (Surface-to-Surface Radiation Interface) is used, the surface radiative properties and the fractional emissive power considered for the calculation of radiative heat source contribution is the one from the outermost side of the shield.
When the Surface-to-surface radiation method is set to Ray shooting in the Surface-to-Surface Radiation interface settings, specular reflection is accounted for even on boundaries where Diffuse Surface (Surface-to-Surface Radiation Interface) is used, using the specular reflectivity of the outermost side of the shield.
