The Electrostatics Interface Using the D-V Formulation
The D-V formulation is an option in the Electrostatics interface and is available with either the ACDC or MEMS module licenses. The Electrostatics Interface can be set to use the D-V Formulation in the discretization settings for the interface. For background on the D-V Formulation, see the Theory for the Electrostatics Interface with the D-V Formulation section.
Once the formulation is set in the discretization menu, the rest of the Electrostatics interface is designed to operate in the same manner as default the V-formulation. However, the D-V formulation does not support the all features included in the standard Electrostatics interface.
The D-V Formulation is only available for 2D and 3D components.
The features not currently supported by the D-V formulation are:
The out-of-plane thickness can be set as a global property of the electrostatics interface, however a spatially dependent out-of-plane thickness is not supported.
