Thermoviscous Boundary Layer Impedance (subfeature)
The Thermoviscous Boundary Layer Impedance subnode can be added as a subfeature to the Acoustic–Structure Boundary multiphysics coupling, in order to include the losses associated with the thermal and viscous boundary layers. The subfeature can be applied to all or to a subset of the boundaries in the parent multiphysics coupling. For details about the formulation and applicability of this feature see the Thermoviscous Boundary Layer Impedance documentation for the The Pressure Acoustics, Frequency Domain Interface.
In this version of the feature, applied to the multiphysics coupling, there is no Mechanical Condition section as it is per default fully coupled to the vibrating surface. The velocity of the structure is applied to the fluid and the full mechanical traction, including viscous stresses components, is added to the solid. The details about the settings for the Thermal Condition and the Fluid Properties sections are found in the Thermoviscous Boundary Layer Impedance section.
The thermoviscous boundary layer impedance subfeature is used in the tutorial Piezoelectric MEMS Speaker. Application Library path Acoustics_Module/Electroacoustic_Transducers/piezo_mems_speaker
