The centers of the two holes must lie on a common line. This line is represented by the normal to the source boundary, passing through the center of the hole in the source boundary. What is measured is the ratio between the projection of the distance between the two hole centers, b, on that line, and the fastener diameter. The default allowed value is εc = 1%.

For the boundary selection type, an additional filter criterion can be applied to restrict the chosen boundaries to those forming an annular shape around the hole. In this case, the distance between the center of the inner circle, xc, and the center of the outer circle, xc, a, must not exceed a specified fraction of the fastener diameter. The default allowed value is εc = 1%.
