Modeling Bearings
Bearings are an integral part of a rotor assembly. In the rotordynamics interfaces, the rotor can only be supported by bearings. The response of the rotor system is sensitive to the bearing model that is used. Therefore, it is important to model the bearings accurately. Following are the commonly used bearings to restrict the motion of the rotor in different directions:
