Add a Disk node to a point on a rotor to model the inertial effects of components attached to the rotor. These components are considered to be rotating with the rotor.
Select Center of mass —
Selected points,
Offset from the selected points, or
User defined. This section specifies the location of the center of mass relative to the selected points. Then, go to the relevant section below to continue defining the section.
When the disk type is Circular, select
Specified by —
Mass and moment of inertia or
Geometric dimensions. For
Mass and moment of inertia, enter the mass,
m, and the polar and diametral moment of inertia,
Ip and
Id, respectively, of the disk. For
Geometric dimensions, enter the density,
ρ, diameter,
d, and thickness,
h, of the disk.
When the disk type is Noncircular, enter the full moment of inertia tensor about the center of gravity
Icg.
Subsequently, enter the inertial properties as in the Selected points case. The only exception is that in this case, the moment of inertia for the noncircular case can be specified either about
Center of mass (
Icg) or
Selected points (
I).
Enter the Position of the center of mass,
rcm. Subsequently, enter the inertial properties as in the
Offset from selected points case.
