The Dielectric node is used to model the dielectric materials in the transmission line. The governing equations are Gauss’ and Ampère’s laws:
The Dielectric node provides an interface for defining the material properties for the dielectric.
Select a Dielectric model to describe the macroscopic properties of the medium (relating the electric displacement
D with the electric field
E) and the applicable material properties, such as the relative permittivity. For descriptions of the constitutive relations
Relative permittivity,
Loss tangent, loss angle, and
Loss tangent, dissipation factor, please refer to
The Electromagnetic Waves, Frequency Domain Interface, section
Electric Displacement Field. Select
From material (default) to pick up the corresponding setting from the domain material on each domain.
