Overview of Equilibrium Discharge Interfaces
The Model Wizard and the Add Physics window contain a number of multiphysics interfaces for modeling of equilibrium discharges, all available under the Equilibrium Discharges branch () within the Plasma branch (). This section gives an overview introduction to these multiphysics interfaces:
The Equilibrium Discharges Interface (): Available in 3D, couples Magnetic and Electric Fields, Heat Transfer in Fluids, and Laminar Flow interfaces with several multiphysics coupling features.
The Equilibrium Discharges, Out-of-Plane Currents interface (): Available in 2D and 2D axisymmetric, it shares most of the settings with The Equilibrium Discharges Interface. The difference is that the magnetic field is computed with the Magnetic Fields interface, which does not solve current conservation equation. This magnetic interface is used here since it is computationally cheaper than the Magnetic and Electric Fields. Another difference is that the interface does not include the ion and electron heating at the plasma boundaries.
