Now add an expression for the inflow velocity which is parabolic.

In the Physics toolbar click Boundaries and choose Inlet .

Select Boundary 23 only. This is the end of the pipe located at y = 6 mm.
Alternatively, Click Paste Selection and type 23 in the dialog.

In the Settings window for Inlet locate the Boundary Condition section. In the list, the default is Velocity, meaning that the inflow velocity distribution is specified directly. Instead, select Fully developed flow from the list. Then locate the Fully Developed Flow section. In the text field for the Average velocity Uav, type the parameter u_av.
Note: The fully developed flow profile will have zero velocity at the walls that surround the inlet, where a no-slip boundary condition is enforced. Because the inlet cross section is circular, the velocity will be greatest at its center. The incoming velocity distribution given by the Fully developed flow option represents what you would get if the flow entered the geometry through a very long pipe of uniform cross section before encountering the mixing blades.

In the Physics toolbar click Boundaries and choose Outlet .

Select Boundary 20 only. This is the surface opposite Boundary 23 which was selected for the Inlet boundary condition. It is located at y = -36 mm.
