Sector Symmetry
The Sector Symmetry feature () can be added from the model tree under Component using the Topology Optimization context menu. Any Density Model will have the selection of its filtered, projected, and penalized variables extended (or overwritten) by the Sector Symmetry selection.
The Sector Symmetry feature will only work in conjunction with Density Model features that have the same selection dimension.
Sector
Provide a Point on the revolution axis and a Direction of the revolution axis. For the latter can choose between x-axis, y-axis, z-axis, and User defined. The Transformation can either be Rotation and reflection or Rotation. The Rotation and reflection option only make sense with an even number of sector. The number of sectors as well as the sector angle is computed automatically based on the selection of the Density Model feature.
The mapping associated with the feature can fail, if the mesh is not mirrored on curved boundaries, and this failure can manifest itself as a convergence issue when solving.
