Physical Model
This physics interface deforms the mesh within the domains on either side of the two fluid interfaces to track its movement.
The Compressibility defaults to Incompressible flow to use the incompressible (constant density) formulation of the Navier–Stokes equations. Select Compressible flow (Ma<0.3) to use the compressible formulation.
If flow is occurring at very low Reynolds numbers, the inertial term in the Navier–Stokes equations can be neglected and the linear Stokes equations can be solved on the domain. This flow type is referred to as creeping flow or Stokes flow and can occur in microfluidics and MEMS devices, where the flow length scales are very small. To make this approximation select the Neglect inertial term (Stokes flow) checkbox, which significantly improves the solver speed.
Enter a Reference pressure level pref (SI unit: Pa). The default value is 1[atm].
Dependent Variables
The dependent variables (field variables) are for the Velocity field and Pressure. The names can be changed in the corresponding fields, but the names of fields and dependent variables must be unique within a model.
