Connecting to Other Physics Interfaces
When modeling flexible parts, it is possible to add other structural mechanics interfaces to get additional functionality:
There are two ways in which you can connect to objects from the other structural mechanics interfaces:
You can connect through joints or springs. In the Solid Mechanics, Shell, or Beam interfaces, you can add Attachment nodes. Such attachments will then appear in the lists of attachments in various features in the Multibody Dynamics interface.
You can also connect to objects in the Shell and Beam interfaces through the Solid–Shell Connection and Solid–Beam Connection multiphysics couplings.
Using the Lumped Mechanical System interface, you can model circuit representation of mechanical systems of masses, springs, and dampers. With the Lumped–Structure Connection multiphysics coupling, you can connect the Lumped Mechanical System Interface to the Multibody Dynamics interface.
