The COMSOL Selections Window
In the Solid Edge® user interface, click the Selections button on the COMSOL Multiphysics tab to open the COMSOL Selections window where you can set up user-defined selections of geometric entities to be synchronized with the COMSOL® model.
The Selections list contains the list of user-defined selections for the active file in Solid Edge®. For each selection from the list you can review and modify the entities included in the selection. These appear in the Entities list. You can also edit the selection name, which is displayed in the Selection name field.
You can create selections of solid or surface bodies, faces, points, and features. A selection that contains features outputs the resulting faces of that feature. To create a selection from a feature right-click the feature in the PathFinder tree inside Solid Edge and from the menu select COMSOL Selections. This opens the COMSOL Selections window and creates the selection.
To create a new selection from geometric entities click the New () button in the COMSOL Selections window. A selection can only contain entities of the same type, for example, only faces or only points. Use the buttons above the Selections list to change the type of the selection before selecting entities. To remove a selection from the Selections list right-click the selection, then select Delete. Selecting Clear deletes all selections from the list.
To remove an item from a selection right-click the item in the Entities list, then select Delete.
To turn off the synchronization of the material selections clear the Generate selections from materials checkbox. After the next synchronization the selections based on materials will not appear in the COMSOL model.
Selections are automatically saved in the Solid Edge® file the next time you save the file. To reload the selections saved in the Solid Edge® file click the Revert to Saved button.
