Pipe Point Sacrificial Anode
The node is available on points. The node defines a sacrificial anode, coupled to the pipe over a resistor.
A current source will be inserted in each selected point, depending on the local potential in the electrolyte, the Anode Equilibrium Potential and the Coupled potential, and the Coupling resistance.
The current source will be strictly anodic if Set current to zero for cathodic potentials is selected.
Capacity
The settings of this section are only applicable for time-dependent simulations.
In time-dependent simulations, the node solves for a capacity (SI unit: C) degree of freedom in each selected point to keep track of the amount of charge inserted into the pipe. The Initial Capacity sets the initial value of the capacity (charge) in each selected point.
By enabling Set current density to zero at depletion, the current in a point is set to zero when the corresponding capacity in that point reaches zero, using a smoothed step function. The Size of transition zone value sets the relative capacity for which the smoothing starts close to depletion.
