Multiphysics Modeling
A composite laminate is most commonly designed based on structural requirements, but there are situations where other physical phenomena must be considered. There are two fundamentally different types of interactions between the mechanics of a laminate and other processes:

Some physical processes occur inside the laminate. Examples are heat flux, electric currents, and diffusion processes.
•
A laminate may act as a boundary of a 3D domain in which, for example, fluid flow is present.
