In the Solid Mechanics interface, there is a possibility to model thin layers on boundaries between solid domains, using the Thin Layer feature. It can also be used to model a cladding on an exterior boundary. With the Composite Materials Module, such thin layers can internally be multilayered. The same type of Layered Materials that is used for shells and membranes is applicable also in this case.
