Set up a finer mesh near the boundaries indicating the top, bottom, and feed location in the distillation column.

In the Model Builder window, under Component 2 (comp2)
, right-click Mesh 1
and select Edge

Right-click the created the Edge 1
and choose Size
.

In the Settings window for Size, locate the Geometric Entity Selection section.

From the Geometric entity level list, choose Boundary.

Click in the Graphics window and then press Ctrl+A to select all boundaries.

Locate the Element Size section. From the Calibrate for list, choose Fluid dynamics.

From the Predefined list, choose Extremely fine.

Click Build All

It is time to solve the distillation column model. Note that the Reaction Engineering interface should not be solved for in the space-dependent model. Therefore, keep the default study settings.
