Mass Transport
The mass transport terms of the population balance equation describe the convective and diffusive mass transport. The transport equation can be written as

In this equation Ji is the diffusive flux, u is the solvent velocity field, and ST,i is the source term containing all sources of particles in interval i. The above equation is the transport equation on nonconservative form. This is often more numerically robust and chosen by default. This formulation disregards density changes in the fluid.
