Mixture Material Properties for Heat Transfer
The Nonisothermal Mixture Model multiphysics coupling provides the thermal conductivity k, heat capacity at constant pressure Cp, and ratio of specific heats γ of the mixture to the heat transfer interface.
The thermal conductivity of the mixture k is volume averaged over all the phases:
The heat capacity at constant pressure Cp of the mixture is obtained from mass-averaging:
The ratio of specific heats γ is obtained as the ratio of Cp respect to Cv:
Note that Cv is obtained from a mass-averaging across the phases.
