Fluid Properties
The Fluid Properties node adds the continuity, momentum, and energy equations solved by the physics interface, except for volume forces and heat sources, which are added by the Volume Force and Heat Source features. Gravity is added by a global Gravity feature when Include gravity is selected in the Physical Model settings. The Fluid Properties node also provides settings for defining the material properties of the fluid.
Thermodynamics
The Compressible Euler Equations interface is applicable for ideal gases. Specify the thermodynamics properties by selecting a ratio of specific heats and selecting between entering the specific gas constant, the heat capacity at constant pressure, or the mean molar mass. For an ideal gas the density is defined as
where pA is the absolute pressure, and T is the temperature.
Enter a value for the Ratio of specific heats γ (dimensionless). The ratio of specific heats must be a real number larger than 1.
Select a Gas constant typeSpecific gas constant Rs (SI unit: J/(kg·K)), Heat capacity at constant pressure Cp (SI unit: J/(kg·K)), or Mean molar mass Mn (SI unit: kg/mol). The default setting is to use the property value From material. For User defined enter another value or expression for either material property. For Mean molar mass the universal gas constant R = 8.314 J/(mol·K), which is a built-in physical constant, is also used.
