Boundary Force Calculation
Use the Boundary Force Calculation node to define globally available force and torque variables for the selected domains. A similar Force Calculation node is available and defined in the Electrostatics, Magnetic Fields, Magnetic and Electric Fields, Magnetic Field Formulation, and Rotating Machinery, Magnetic interfaces. A description of the generated variable is the same as in those interfaces and is described in Force Calculation. As with those features, the Split by Connectivity operation is available by right-clicking the parent node. This feature uses the Virtual gap method to compute the forces.
Force Calculation
Enter a Force name to specify a distinct <name> suffix in variables:
The total force is named <physicsTag>.Force<component>_<name>
The total torque is named <physicsTag>.Torque<component>_<name>
The axial torque is named <physicsTag>.Tax<component>_<name>
where <physicsTag> is the physics tag, and <component> refers to the spatial components.
The torque and axial torque are defined using use the input for the Torque axis rax and coordinates for the Torque rotation point r0.
