Interface Current Source
The Interface Current Source is available for boundaries only. It is similar to the Layer Current Source, but instead of representing a source interior to the layer, or a source on the layer’s outer perimeter, it represents a net current density flowing from the adjacent domain into the shell (Qj,s, SI unit: A/m2), It can be used to model, for example, a boundary acting as an electrode. Alternatively, for interior interface selections it can represent a source of current on an interface between layers.
In the 3D representation of the layer stack, you could consider it a “boundary current source” applied to either the top or bottom of the layer stack or on an interface between layers. For more information on the 3D representation of the layer stack, see The Layer Selection Section.

Interface Current Source
Enter a value or expression for the Current source Qj,s (SI unit: A/m2). The default is 0 A/m2.
