Phase–Field Damage Modeling
An important use case of phase-field modeling in solids is the prediction of damage initiation and crack propagation in structural components. Here, the driving force for the phase field evolution depends on, for example, the state of stress in the solid, and, vice versa, the evolution of the phase field determines the degradation of the solid properties. Such bidirectionally coupled problems can be solved with the Phase-Field Damage (Multiphysics Coupling) node.
