Inertia Relief Study
The inertia relief study is a special combination of two stationary study steps through which you can study unconstrained structures where a set of external loads are balanced by inertial forces. The inertial forces and corresponding accelerations that are needed for this balance is a result of the analysis.
See Performing an Inertia Relief Analysis for a detailed description of how to set up an inertia relief study.
For the underlying theory, see Inertia Relief in the Structural Mechanics Theory chapter.
