Isosurface Series
Plot a scalar quantity as an Isosurface Series () plot in 3D. An isosurface series plot displays quantity at different times, for example, as a set of isosurfaces on which the result has a constant, specified value. The plot can also color isosurfaces based on an independent quantity. Add Color Expression, Deformation, Filter, Marker, Selection (Plot Attribute), Transformation, Transparency, or Visual Effects subnodes as needed. Right-click a 3D Plot Group and add this plot type from the More Volume Plots submenu.
Go to Common Results Node Settings for links to information about these sections: Data, Expression, Title, Quality, and Inherit Style.
Coloring and Style
From the Isosurface type list, choose Surface (the default), to plot isosurface as surfaces, or Filled, to plot isosurfaces as filled volumes. For the filled isosurfaces, it is recommended to use transparency for the plot.
If you chose Surface, select the Level labels checkbox to add labels for the isosurface levels.
If you chose Filled, the Fill volume outside of isosurface levels checkbox is selected by default. Clear this checkbox if you do not want filled volumes for levels above and below the isosurface levels. Also, select the Include interior boundaries checkbox if you want to include any interior boundaries in the filled isosurface plot.
For coloring the isosurfaces, select one of the following options from the Coloring list:
Select Color table (the default) to color the contours using a color table that you choose from the Color table list below.
Select Uniform to use a predefined uniform color, or select Custom to define a custom color from the colored list below (on Windows) or by clicking the Color button (on Linux and macOS) and then selecting a color from the color palette.
Select Gradient to specify the coloring as a gradient between two colors, which you specify using the Top color and Bottom color lists.
Choose a color table for the isosurfaces from the Color table list.
The Color legend checkbox is selected by default. Clear it to remove the color legend. Select the Reverse color table or Reverse color gradient checkboxes as required.
For information about the Color table transformation list, see Color Table Transformation.
From the Scale list, choose Linear (the default), Linear symmetric, or Logarithmic.
For information about the Legend type list, see Legend Type.
