Add a Preferred Units node (

) to choose properties for which you want to use another preferred unit by default under
Results rather than the default unit from the unit system in the model. You can only add one
Preferred Units node.
Click the Add Physical Quantity button (

) to open the
Physical Quantity dialog, where you can select a physical quantity from the
General,
Acoustics,
Electromagnetics,
Solid Mechanics, and
Transport sections. You can also type a filter text in the text field at the top of the dialog to search for available physical quantities. Click
OK to add the selected physical quantity to the table above. You can only add a physical quantity to the table once, so already added physical quantities are then no longer available in the
Physical Quantity dialog.
In the table, the physical quantity, its default unit from the unit system, and the preferred unit appears in the Quantity,
Unit, and
Preferred unit columns, respectively. From the lists in the
Preferred unit column, choose the preferred unit that you want to use for each added physical quantity. The preferred units are used in subsequent plots, derived values, and other results features. Click the
Apply button (

) at the top of the
Settings window to directly apply the preferred units to all of the results features that have settings for choosing a unit.
Click the Delete button (

) to remove the selected physical quantity from the table. Click the
Clear Table (

) button to clear the entire table.
Select the Apply conversions to expressions with the same dimensions checkbox to apply the preferred unit and convert values accordingly for physical quantities and expressions that share the same dimensions (that is, the same dimensional formula, such as ML
2T
−2 for work and energy).
