About Auxiliary Equation-Based Nodes
The PDE Interfaces
provide an environment for specifying a model in terms of equations. In many cases, however, you may only be interested in adding an equation term or a constraint to the PDE implemented by a physics interface.
The auxiliary equation-based nodes are found under the context submenus

Points
. To display these in the context menu, click the

dialog.
The following nodes (listed in alphabetical order) can be added to most physics and PDE interfaces:
•
Auxiliary Dependent Variable
•
Discretization (Node)
•
Pointwise Constraint
•
Weak Constraint
•
Weak Contribution (PDEs and Physics)
•
Weak Contribution on Mesh Boundaries
The following nodes can be added in the same way to most physics interfaces, but can also be added directly under Global Definitions or Component>Definitions, making it possible to set up a PDE without any physics or PDE interface:
•
Constraint
•
Dependent Variable Field
•
Global Dependent Variables
•
State Variables
•

•
Equation Contributions
•
