The Coil node can be used to model coils, cables, and other devices subjected to an external lumped excitation current. The excitation is transformed into local quantities (electric fields and currents densities). The Coil feature supports only a Single conductor model, for which all the inputs are described in the Coil section in the Magnetic Fields interface. In addition, it is also possible to specify the Loss Model as either From resistive heating or User defined. More information on loss models can be found in the Loss Calculation section.
