Installing in Linux and macOS
Installing in the Linux® and macOS operating systems is similar to Installing in Windows. The Server step contains Basic Settings and the option of creating a Default Local Administrative User. See Starting a Model Manager Server for more information about how to automatically launch a Model Manager server after installation on Linux® and macOS.
For security reasons, it is not recommended to use an account with administrative privileges to run a Model Manager server. The Apache Solr™ search platform and the PostgreSQL® database system do not support running as a root user on either Linux® or macOS.
