The Visual Effects subnode (
) adds visual effects to 3D plots and to 2D plots that use a Height Expression subnode. Add it to control if the plot should be affected by lighting and to control ambient occlusion and direct shadows. You can add a
Visual Effects subnode to all plots in 3D and to Contour, Function, Histogram, Matrix Histogram, Table Contour, Table Histogram, Line, Optical Aberration, Surface, and Table Surface plots in 2D with a Height Expression. In the
Model Builder, add one of those plot types; then right-click the plot node and select
Visual Effects.
The Affected by lighting check box is selected by default. If you clear this check box, there is no effect of lighting on the plotted surfaces for the plot to which this subnode has been added.
Under Ambient occlusion, select a mode from the
Mode list:
Auto (the default) or
Manual. The
Auto setting includes ambient occlusion. With the
Manual setting, you can select or clear the
Cast shadows and
Receives shadows check boxes.
Under Direct shadows, select a mode from the
Mode list:
Auto (the default) or
Manual. The
Auto setting includes direct shadows. With the
Manual setting, you can select or clear the
Cast shadows and
Receives shadows check boxes.
