The Finalize node (
) ends a meshing sequence of user-controlled type that also defines its own geometric model. It performs an associativity update for geometric entity numbers. You cannot delete, disable, or move the
Finalize node.
If the setting Build automatically when leaving mesh is selected in the
The Mesh Node, the software automatically builds all nodes in a meshing sequence, including the
Finalize node, if you select another node in the Model Builder where the entities of the mesh are used. This typically happens when you go to the Materials node or a physics interface.
The Mesh node (
) under
Meshes that has a frame around its icon defines a topology and is referred to as the component’s geometric model, or the
primary sequence, on which the physics is defined. All of the other
Mesh nodes must define a geometric model that is topologically similar to the one defined by the primary sequence. Two geometric models are considered to be similar if they have the same number of geometric entities and their points have the same coordinates.
