The Heat Transfer in Solids (
) interface is used to model heat transfer in solids by conduction, convection, and radiation. A
Solid model is active by default on all domains. All functionality for including other domain types, such as a fluid domain, is also available.
When this version of the physics interface is added, these default nodes are added to the Model Builder —
Solid,
Thermal Insulation (the default boundary condition), and
Initial Values. Then, from the
Physics toolbar, add other nodes that implement, for example, boundary conditions and sources. You can also right-click
Heat Transfer is Solids to select physics features from the context menu.
To display more than the shape functions in this section, click the Show More Options button (
) and select
Advanced Physics Options in the
Show More Options dialog box. See
Settings for the Heat Transfer Interface for a description of the other settings.
