Deformed Mesh Definition Features
Overview of Deformed Mesh and Moving Mesh Features
You can add deformed mesh features directly to any COMSOL Multiphysics model. The most essential ones — Free Deformation, Prescribed Deformation, and Rotating Domain — are available from the Moving Mesh and Deformed Geometry submenus when right-clicking a Component node as well as from the Physics toolbar when shown. After adding the first feature, the complete set of features becomes available by right-clicking the Moving Mesh and Deformed Geometry branches that appear under the component or, alternatively, from the ribbon toolbars with the same names.
You can also include deformed mesh features when setting up a model in the Model Wizard or add them from the Add Physics window. You find them under Mathematics>Deformed Mesh>Moving Mesh and Mathematics>Deformed Mesh>Deformed Geometry where they appear as if they were physics interfaces.
The same feature types are available both for Moving Mesh and Deformed Geometry; they differ only in which frame’s mesh they deform.
Under Mathematics>Deformed Mesh>Legacy Deformed Mesh you find The Deformed Geometry Interface and The Moving Mesh Interface.
