Predeformation
Use the Predeformation subnode to specify that the elastic forces in Spring Foundation, Spring Foundation, Interface, Thin Elastic Layer, or Thin Elastic Layer, Interface are nonzero at zero displacement. Thus, you can model cases where the unstressed state of the spring is in another configuration than the one described by the geometry.
The value of the predeformation can vary during the simulation, so it should not be interpreted as an initial value.
Shell Properties
This section is only present when Predeformation is used as a subnode to Spring Foundation or Thin Elastic Layer.
Select the layers for which this predeformation value is to be used. You can only select a subset of the layers selected in the parent node.
Interface Selection
This section is only present when Predeformation is used as a subnode to Spring Foundation, Interface or Thin Elastic Layer, Interface.
Select the interfaces for which this predeformation value is to be used. You can only select a subset of the interfaces selected in the parent node.
All other settings for the Predeformation node are described in the documentation for Predeformation in the Solid Mechanics interface.
