Chain Geometries
The Multibody Dynamics Module has a built-in geometry library for creating roller chains, sprockets, and roller chain sprocket assemblies. All geometry parts are available for 3D and 2D models and can be used to build a chain drive system.
All chain and sprocket geometry parts are fully parameterized. You can modify the input parameters to customize the shape of any chain or sprocket, as well as any roller chain sprocket assembly.
The set of input parameters for a geometry part must result in a valid roller chain, sprocket or roller chain sprocket assembly geometry. Several parameter checks are done when building the geometry to avoid creating invalid geometry parts. If an invalid parameter definition is found, an appropriate error message is displayed that includes information on how to correct the definition.
