Introduction

In this chapter, we review the theory behind the thermodynamic properties database and its functions. The thermodynamic models in the database are available for single phase, gas or liquid, and phase equilibrium systems for two or more phases such as vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE), vapor-liquid-liquid equilibrium (VLLE) and liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE).
