Fracture
Use this node to model mass transport along thin fractures in porous media. The node assumes that the transport in the tangential direction along the fracture is dominant as a result of lower flow resistance.
The Fracture feature has two default subfeatures — the Fluid (Fracture) subfeature where convection and diffusion are specified and the Fracture Material subfeature where the porosity εp is defined.
Fracture Properties
Specify a value for the Fracture thickness dfr.
For the Fracture boundary condition, there are a number of Attributes available which can be accessed either via the Physics Ribbon toolbar (for Windows) or by right-clicking on the Fracture node. These attributes are identical to the Boundary, Edge, Point, and Pair Nodes for the Transport of Diluted Species in Fractures Interface described, for example, in the Chemical Reaction Engineering Module User’s Guide.
