Assigning Directivity to a Source
Acoustic sources often have a certain directivity, for example, the directivity of a loudspeaker or even the directivity of a human speaker. When setting up sources in a ray acoustics model this directivity can be specified using the
Source with Directivity
feature. The spatial directivity can be imported from measured data using an interpolation function that depends on the two polar angles as well as the band center frequency.
As an alternative the source directivity, for a single frequency simulation, can be automatically coupled from a pressure acoustics model using the
Release from Exterior Field Calculation
feature.
