Total Loads

You can specify a load either as a distributed load per unit length, area, or volume, or as a total force to be distributed on a boundary. In the case of a total load, the applied distributed load is the given load divided by the area (or length, or volume) on which its acts. Thus, entering a total load is usually only meaningful when its orientation is given by a Cartesian coordinate system.
