Thermal Expansion (Rigid Connector)
Add the Thermal Expansion subnode to prescribe a deformation of the rigid connector caused by changes in temperature. This makes it possible to reduce stresses caused by the rigid connector being rigid, while there are thermal deformations in the flexible body to which it is attached.
The thermal strain depends on the coefficient of thermal expansion α, the temperature T, and the strain-free reference temperature Tref as
Shell Properties
This section is only present when Thermal Expansion is used as a subnode to Rigid Connector.
Select the layers for which these thermal expansion properties are to be used. You can only select a subset of the layers selected in the parent node.
Interface Selection
This section is only present when Predeformation is used as a subnode to Rigid Connector, Interface.
Select the interfaces for which these thermal expansion properties are to be used. You can only select a subset of the interfaces selected in the parent node
All other settings for the Thermal Expansion node are described in the documentation for Thermal Expansion (Rigid Connector) in the Solid Mechanics interface.
