Changing Fonts and the Desktop Language
The COMSOL Multiphysics software uses a default font for texts in plots such as axis labels and titles. It might be necessary to use another default font to display non-Latin characters such as Chinese and Japanese characters. You can also change the Desktop language. You make these changes using The Preferences Dialog Box.
Changing the Font for Plot Labels and Titles
The Default font options are applicable for the text that displays for plots in the Graphics window. Changes to those settings are applied when you create a new model. In the Preferences dialog box, click Graphics and Plot Windows.
1
Under Default font, select a font Family from the list and enter a font Size (in points). The default is to use a predefined font family and the font size set to Default size in the Size list (to use the default system-dependent font size). Depending on the operating system and the installed fonts on the computer, you can select from a number of other font families. You can also choose another font size (6–24 pt) from the Size list.
2
Click OK. The program stores the specified font family and size as a preference setting, so you only have to change it once.
You can also change the setting used for an existing model from the root node’s Settings window’s Font in Graphics section. By default, it uses the font specified in the Preferences dialog box and the default font size.
Changing the COMSOL Desktop Language
1
In the Preferences dialog box, click General.
2
Select an available Language for the graphical user interface. The following languages are available: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.
3
Click OK. A message displays indicating that the program must be restarted for the changes to take effect. Click OK again, exit and reopen the COMSOL Desktop to display the user interface in the selected language.
