Predeformation
Use the Predeformation subnode to specify that the elastic forces in Spring Foundation are nonzero at zero displacement. Thus you can model cases where the unstressed state of the spring is in another configuration than the one described by the geometry.
The value of the predeformation can vary during the simulation, so it should not be interpreted as an initial value.
Layer Selection
Select the layer or interfaces based on this node is added under which type of spring feature. You can select individual layers or interfaces in this node which are allowed on the parent node.
All other settings for the Predeformation node are described in the documentation for Predeformation in the Solid Mechanics interface.
