Reduced Models
Introduction
Reduced models are online reduced-order representations of a full COMSOL Multiphysics model, which can be created by a Model Reduction study step (see Model Reduction) or imported from a COMSOL Reduced Model file (*.mphrom). Here, online refers to using the reduced models for evaluations rather than producing them. You can store and use reduced-order models separately in a COMSOL Multiphysics model. Such reduced models can be useful for applications such as:

Effective system simulations (such as control system simulations and circuit simulations)
•
PSD (power spectral density) and random response models (reduced models)
•
Optimization (surrogate models)
•
Applications in general, which can run faster and leaner based on a reduced model instead of a full model.
