This global feature requires a CFD Module license. It can be used to create a new turbulent flow interface based on the current laminar or turbulent flow interface. The new interface inherits the property values from the original interface except for the turbulence related ones. All the features in the original interface are also inherited by the newly created interface except for the Generate New Turbulence Model Interface feature itself and the
Initial Values feature. The initial values of the new interface are either default values or estimates from the solution of the original interface depending on the settings in the
Generate New Turbulence Model Interface feature. Note that the parameters and expressions in edit fields in all the features, except for
Initial Values and the Name column in
Global Equation, get exactly the same expressions as in the original model
. Therefore, any dependencies on expressions and/or dependent variables from the physics interface must be reviewed and updated manually if necessary.
This section contains a boolean input, Copy only active settings, which is selected by default. When selected, the disabled features and settings in the original model are not transferred to the new interface.
The Create button generates the new interface.
The Study section contains two drop-down lists:
Study type and
Initial value from study. When Turbulent Flow,
k-
ε or Turbulent Flow, k-ω is selected as the Turbulence Model Interface, the Study type contains the following two options:
The default value is Stationary. For all other turbulence models, the available
Study type options are:
with default value Stationary with initialization. Note that the created new study only solves for the new turbulence interface.
Initial value from study contains a list of the studies that are currently in the model. It can also be set to
None. If there is no study available, the default option is
None. If there are available studies, the first study is the default option.
